Behind the classic façade is a modernist refuge that is sculpted, light-filled and precise. This home unfolds into a stunning 3.4-metre-high living space, expansive bi-fold doors and connection to the landscaped garden.
Our brief was to introduce window furnishings that respect the home’s clarity and calm, providing performance and control without ever competing with the architecture.
Quiet performance for a refined architectural home
The exterior required durable, unobtrusive shading to support the home’s large openings and strong light exposure. We began with a replacement external blind skin using Serge 3% in Black, restoring UV control and smooth operation with a minimal presence against the façade.
For the primary outdoor-facing opening, a Renson Fixscreen 150 was selected for its clean geometry and exceptional tensioned performance. Powder coated in Whisper White, and powered by a Somfy motor, it delivers reliable shade and seamless automation.
Inside, softness and subtle texture were introduced through a single HC43mm chain-operated roller blind in Richmond Out Raw Silk. With its finely woven finish and white base bar, this blind offers essential privacy while maintaining the home’s muted, elegant palette. It tempers the crisp lines of the interior while staying true to Smart Design Studio’s restrained aesthetic.

Every furnishing was chosen to work in harmony with the architecture – understated, functional and long wearing.
The result is a blend of heritage charm and modern sophistication. The window furnishings enhance the home’s sense of openness and support year-round comfort, allowing the home’s craftsmanship and natural light to take centre stage.
